Sales of travel deals for the upcoming season in travel agencies across Serbia has jumped from six to seven percent compared to last year. Moreover, it is cheaper to travel through agencies, for which reason tourists are becoming more and more interested in travel deals for security reasons.
According to YUTA data– Serbian Association of Travel Agencies, the purchase of travel deals through operators is increasing year after year. Although some tourists choose to organize their own travel deals, the majority of Serbian citizens still travel exclusively through travel agencies that organize charter flights and group departures. One of the key reasons is safety, as well as the fact that agencies take full care of their passengers.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Interior, more than 5.5 million Serbian citizens hold a valid biometric passport, whilst more than one million people pay travel deals through travel agencies. For the upcoming travel season, as many as 30,000 travel deals have already been sold by the New Year’s holidays in the autumn’s early booking, whilst the biggest interest is expected at Tourism Fair. So far, the sales show an increase by seven percent, as well as an increase by 20 percent for some destinations.
